Updating your profile

Manage your account information and preferences.

Profile Information

What you can update:

• Display name
• Email address
• Username
• Avatar/profile picture
• Bio (coming soon)

Changing Your Name

Update display name:

1. Go to Profile/Account
2. Click "Edit" next to name
3. Enter new name
4. Click "Save"
5. Changes immediately

Changing Email

Update email address:

1. Go to Account Settings
2. Click "Change Email"
3. Enter new email
4. Verify with code
5. Confirm change

Important:

• Verification required
• Used for login
• Receives notifications
• Must be unique

Username

Change username:

1. Go to Account Settings
2. Edit username field
3. Check availability
4. Save changes

Requirements:

• 3-20 characters
• Letters, numbers, underscores
• Must be unique
• No spaces

Profile Picture

Upload avatar:

1. Click on current avatar
2. Choose "Upload Image"
3. Select file (JPG, PNG)
4. Crop if needed
5. Save

Or use URL:

• Paste image URL
• Preview shows
• Click "Save"

Requirements:

• Square format best
• Minimum 200x200px
• Maximum 5MB
• JPG or PNG

Privacy Settings

Control visibility:

• Public profile (coming soon)
• Show email (off by default)
• Show activity (coming soon)
• Search visibility (coming soon)

Notification Preferences

Email notifications:

• Account updates
• New features
• Usage alerts
• Marketing (opt-in)

Manage:

1. Go to Settings
2. Click "Notifications"
3. Toggle preferences
4. Save changes

Deleting Account

Permanent deletion:

1. Go to Account Settings
2. Scroll to bottom
3. Click "Delete Account"
4. Confirm with password
5. Account deleted in 30 days

Warning:

• Cannot be undone
• All data deleted
• 30-day grace period
• Can cancel deletion

Tips

• Keep email current
• Use recognizable avatar
• Choose memorable username
• Review privacy settings
• Update regularly
